Urban planning and the knowledge politics of the smart city

Smart cities promote computational and data-driven understandings of the built environment have potential to reconfigure urban planning governance practices in profound ways. urbanisation is often presented as a politically neutral socially beneficial approach achieve sustainability goals but emphasis on data gathering algorithmic analysis decision-making has tendency restrict how stakeholders know act upon cities.
